Give Now
To my fellow faculty and staff members,
On November 17th, you showed up in great numbers to demonstrate your belief in this university.
Illinois Tech was able to raise more than $700,000 on the first-ever IIT Giving Day, and 221 of the 860 donors who gave were faculty and staff. Those numbers are proof of the dedication and extraordinary team spirit of Illinois Tech employees. Simply put, you are amazing.
As director of student accounting, I can tell you from first-hand experience that your giving makes a difference. Every day in the Office of Student Accounting, we deal with students who are facing major struggles.
Students who have been in car accidents or whose family members are seriously ill.
International students who are refugees or whose parents have lost their livelihood to natural disasters.
First-generation college students whose loved ones don’t have the means to support them through the end of the semester, let alone to graduation.
At Illinois Tech, more than 97 percent of students receive some type of financial aid, but because of annual giving from donors like you, we are able to provide additional help for students with the greatest need.
That is why I am so grateful to those of you who gave on Giving Day and to those of you who have been giving to Illinois Tech for years. It is also why I ask those of you who have not yet given to the university to consider becoming a first-time donor before the year ends.
Whether you make a one-time gift or sign up for an ongoing payroll deduction, you will make a difference. Donors like you enable students who may be on the verge of dropping out of college due to challenging circumstances to graduate instead and to go on to become successful alumni who serve their communities.
The faculty and staff of Illinois Tech have an extraordinary devotion to students and a drive for excellence that they demonstrate every day in their work. Your decision to give to Illinois Tech is another important way you can make this university a place where students come first.
On behalf of the Office of Student Accounting and of Illinois Tech alumni everywhere, I would like to thank you for your commitment to making a difference.
Wishing you a safe and peaceful holiday,
Jackie Anderson (PSYC '05, M.B.A. '14)Director of Student Accounting
